LOS ANGELES - Nov. 6, 2015 - This morning at 11 a.m., SoCalGas
crews and outside experts started the coiled tubing rig operation to
attempt to work through an ice blockage inside the 2 7/8-inch tubing
pipeline of a natural gas storage well at the Aliso Canyon facility. If
the operation is successful, crews will fill the pipeline with brine
solution to stop the flow of gas. (Photo by SoCalGas) The leak of a well at the Aliso Canyon natural gas facility that has
sickened residents and led to the relocation of hundreds is now nearing
its second month.
Crews are continuing to try to plug the leak, but those efforts could take three to four months, according to officials.
